Poker Stars opens Daniel’s Room. The team over at Poker Stars has announced on Friday that they are opening a special room for their star player, Daniel Negreanu. That’s right, the world’s largest poker website is now featuring a special room for the world’s most successful professional poker player. If you’re a member of the Poker Stars network, open your Poker Stars software and look for this room in the lobby.
This room features games at high stakes designed especially by Negreanu’s team. It’s created for high rollers in particular, and the team at Poker Stars say that Daniel himself is keeping a close eye on the events there. If you play well enough, you might just get an appearance into the Poker Stars TV show. If not, at least you can get the chance to play with a poker legend such as Daniel Negreanu.
For the moment, there is only one game available in Daniel’s Room – No Limit Hold ‘em. You can enter with a minimum of 100 big blinds and the top limit is set at 250 big blinds. The limits that are set for the time being are $20/$40 (with a $10 ante), $50/$100 (with a $25 ante) and $100/$200 (with a $50 ante). Judging by these limits alone we can tell that this room is addressed to poker professionals.
This is quite an expected move from the people at Poker Stars, after other internet gambling sites have created special rooms for their star players (see Ivey’s Room at Full Tilt Poker).
