LEE NELSON’S EMERGES AS ANZPT WINNER
Today, the Australian Poker News is dominated with the stories of how Lee Nelson emerged as the winner of the professional ANZOT tournaments. The Australia New Zealand Poker Tour has never been better than this year’s edition. The tournament time around was fiercely contested by many big names in the game of poke. Phil Willcocks became the first and onlyNew Zealand to crash out of the final table phase of the tournament. He was sent packing just before the break for dinner by the Australian Super-Star, Nick Georgoulas. Well, it’s not all lost as Phil Willcocks pocketed an appreciable sum of $34,100.
The game resume with greater vigor after the hurriedly taken dinner break. This time around, Karan Punjabi was forced to join the losers queue. He didn’t spent much time before being joined Danny Chevalier, his fellow Australian. Well, the two are not left empty handed as they’re rewarded with $43,090 and $55,180 for occupying 4th and 3rd positions respectively.
The exist of Karan Punjab and Danny Chevalier left the game open with only Australian Nick Georgoulas and the New Zealander Lee Nelson. This concluding part turned out to be the most exciting of the whole games of the tournament. At the start of the game, Nelson shoot off ahead of Georgoulas, but nevertheless, Georgoulas quickly doubled up himself, refusing himself to be felled.
The decisive moment finally came when Lee out-maneuvered his opponent by playing out J♥T♥. Georgoulas made a move to save his fate by employing the pocket fours.
