Party Poker Review
Party Poker (PP) was one of the original pioneers of online poker. Once a dominant force in the online poker industry, it is nowadays a mere speck of its former glory. The main reason for this is the banning of accounts from the USA due to government regulations. PP still declines any customers from continental USA, but still remains the third largest site in terms of traffic.
Site Layout and Graphics
PP sets no high bar when it comes to their lobby, but what it does is done well. The site is simplistic and very easily navigated. It is also very fast, so users should experience close to no lag, if nothing at all. Tables are simple, yet rendered in an easy-to-use fashion. Like the lobby, the graphics are nothing earth-shattering either. One negative aspect is that PP doesn’t provide much information on ring games. They only display average pot size, but don’t include player to flop% and # hands/hour. This means finding out exacts about ring games takes a little bit of your own watching.

Support
Support on PP is decent, but lacking in some areas. On the plus side, both email and phone support is offered, however this is only in English. Emails can be somewhat slow, and have been reported to “avoid the question” at times. Phone contact is just as ineffective in some respects.
Tournaments
There are plenty of tournaments to cater to PP’s smaller player base. The MTT’s are very balanced, and offer great variety for most buy-in levels. Unlike FTP and PS, guarantees are not large, and thus field sizes are generally quite small. However, this is both a positive and a negative, as smaller field sizes have generally less variance. Due to low traffic, PP tournaments are generally avoided by most mid- to high-stakes grinders, aside from the Sunday majors. Flagship tournaments include to $200+15 $300k, and the $600+40 Monthly Million.
Sit-and-Goes
SNG’s are one of the highlights of PP, and something that they are very proud of. Aside from cash games, SNG’s receive some of the highest volume on the site, and competes with the 2 larger sites (FTP/PS) for SNG volume. PP offers a wide variety of varying buy-in levels, and all SNG’s fill very quickly. PP was once the home of the very popular “Step” tournaments. These have recently been replaced, but the newer games are still attracting players.
Ring Games
Cash games at PP have been long regarded as very soft in respect to the site of the room. However, players have reported an increase in player skill level as of late. Whether this is just PP or the poker world that is experiencing this is still unknown. Nosebleed action at PP is fairly non-existent, as the highest limit is 5kNL. PP offers good action for beginners and low-stakes grinders, with NL games going as low as 4NL. Micro and low stakes are still by far the most populated game type on the site.

Bonuses
PP’s main bonus system is the key level system. As you earn player points, you reach higher key levels which allow you to redeem cash bonuses. The highest level, Palladium Elite, has cash bonuses which equate to 40% rakeback. Party Poker is the largest site to offer bad beat jackpots for raked ring games, although this requires a higher rake fee.
